Cadet Competition


The Florida Wing Cadet Competition is an annual event that cadet color guard teams compete in to represent the Florida Wing at the Southeast Region Cadet Competition. The event consist of many areas of competition, from military drill performances, to athletic challenges to academic evaluation.  Competition rules are set at the national level.  


  • Must have completed achievement one.
  • Must be on the Monthly Membership Listing at the time of the competition.
  • Cadets 18 and over must have completed Cadet Protection Policy Training (CPPT).

Senior Members

  • Must have completed level one and Cadet Protection Policy Training (CPPT Basic).
  • Must be on the Monthly Membership Listing at the time of the competition.



  • $75 per team member
  • Fee includes trophies and awards.($25)
  • Fee includes lodging and meals ($50)
  • No shows will not be afforded a refund.
  • $50 (Includes meals and lodging)


Team Applications

  • Applications to compete should be completed on our electronic registration system Registration is now closed.
  • All cadet participants must upload a fully signed FLWGF 500 (Sidebar) on the electronic application.
Spectator Procedure
  • Guests, family and friends are welcomed to attend the awards ceremony on Sunday. Guests are the full responsibility of the team.

Staff Applications

Staff members will be needed to support the competition in areas such as: judges, test proctors, time keepers, recorders, line judges, panel quiz moderator, photographers and other duties.  If you have a preference, please state in your e-mail.

Transportation to and from such activity is not the responsibility of CAP.  Privately owned vehicles travel to or from such activity is performed strictly at the member’s own risk (reference CAPR 77-1, para 6c and CAPR 52-16, para 8-10) and is not under CAP direction and control. Transportation during the activity will NOT be provided.

Team participants and staff will check in no earlier than 1900 hrs and no later than 2300 hrs 03 Feb 2017 at the Hotel Lobby.  Members checking in must be in uniform as prescribed below and have their CAP Membership Card and CAPF 161 on them.


Friday     - No Meals will be provided. 

Saturday - Breakfast
Sunday   - Breakfast 


Friday – Team shirts (or casual t-shirt of good taste) and blue jeans.
Saturday - Each team will be given a schedule of events at the time of check-in.  This schedule of events will be used to determine what uniform will be worn during the event.
Sunday - Short sleeve blue shirt combination with ribbons for the awards ceremony.


Teams will be judged in accordance with National Cadet Competition Cur riculum Guide Pamphlet 52-4, dated February 2015.

For Indoor and Outdoor Practical Drill Event Reporting Procedures we will be using the National Cadet Competition Man ual 52-4, dated 2 June 2009.

This Year Florida Wing will offer the Following Elective Events:

• Extemporaneous and impromptu public speaking (individual).
• Jeopardy! (individual, all ranks), Jeopardy! (individual, <24 months cadet experience).


The teams are responsible for the following:


  • Transportation to/from and during activity.
  • TEAM sponsors - 1 or 2 for all cadets, in accordance with the CPPT for overnight activities. 
  • Follow all CAP regulations. 
  • Conduct of all members of their team, sponsors and spectators.
  • Booking hotel rooms at the provided hotel.

**SPECIAL NOTICE** The location of this activity is at an Air Force Base.  Due to the nature of current world situations, Civil Air Patrol activities are a non-priority to the world events.  It is possible that our facilities at the AF Base will become unavailable to us.  We will work as hard as we can to provide an alternate location.
