Basic First Aid (Meets ES Requirements) Thu & Fri, 23 & 24 May

Description

The Basic First Aid class is taught through American Health and Safety Institute
(ASHI) and is an approved certifying agency that meets CAP ES standards. Certification cards will be issued that are good for two years. This is the full in-
person class that has plenty of hands on practice and take-home textbooks. Safety, blood-borne pathogens, personal protective equipment, choking, bleeding, shock, ergonomics for safe handling such as moving people, the recovery position and many more subjects.

These 3.5-4 hr. classes will be offered both Thursday afternoon and Friday. Class size not to exceed 20 participants for each session, so sign up early to assure a spot for this great opportunity.

ICS-400 Course Thu & Fri, 23 & 24 May

Description

This course provides training for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System (ICS). The course expands upon information covered in ICS-100 through ICS-300 courses. The target audience for this course is personnel who are expected to perform in a management capacity in an Area command or Multiagency Coordination Entity.

Selection Criteria: Persons expected to perform in a management capacity in an area command/complex incident environment.

   
Prerequisites
  • Level 1 completion
  • GES, ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300, ICS-700, ICS-800 completion
  • Qualified or training for Air Ops Branch Director, Ground Branch Director, or any of the 4 Section Chief roles
  • ICS-300 needs to have been taken at least 60 days prior to the start of this ICS-400 course

Mission Radio Operator Course Thu & Fri, 23-24 May

Description

This MRO course has some updated information and an additional module to assist with communications involving air operations.

Participants will have a chance to work in field-like surroundings as well as the Communications trailer.

Those needing MRO renewal should attend Friday's course as well.

  • General Emergency Services qualification
  • Introductory Communications User Training
  • Mission Radio Operator commander approval for prerequisites
  • CAPT 117 ES Continuing Education Exam, Part 3

Notes

For Friday's portion only, polos and grey pants are authorized as there will be a field exercise. The uniform for Thursday is the same as noted below in the Uniform section.

   
Training Leaders of Cadets, Basic Course Thu, 23 May

Description

Do you work with cadets? Do you want to become more effective at mentoring them and managing squadron level cadet programs? Then register for the NEW Training Leaders of Cadets Basic Course. Newly redesigned and converted to a 1-day format. The TLC course equips adult leaders with youth mentoring skills, policy knowledge and practical tools for implementing the CAP Cadet Program.

Training Leaders of Cadets, Intermediate Course Fri, 23 May

For graduates of TLC Basic or previous TLC course, adult members preparing for service as a Squadron Commander or Deputy Commander of Cadets, veteran Cadet Program Officers seeking refresher training.

Unit Commanders Course Thu & Fri, 23-24 May

Description

The objective of the UCC is to build a cadre of well-trained officers who are prepared to lead and manage at the squadron level. Graduates will be able to weave the management responsibilities of command with the leadership skills necessary to build and encourage their team of dedicated members from all walks of life and of all ages to accomplish CAP's mission and squadron objectives. This course has been revamped to include an online portion and two days of classroom instruction.

  • Completion of Level II
  • If you are in a command position and have not completed Level II, contact the Course Director for consideration.

Unless otherwise specified, the uniform for pre-conference courses is the Air Force style Class B – light blue shirt/blouse with or without tie/tab and blue slacks, or CAP Corporate aviator shirt with or without tie, and grey slacks – No Tactical pants.
